When it comes to choosing a surgeon, more than anything else, you want one who is technically skilled. Without question, Dr. Rob Golden fulfills this critical criterion superbly. Though it’s important not to overgeneralize, surgeons, as a group, are not known for their bedside manner. Some, in fact, are notorious for their rudeness. Not so with Dr. Golden: he gives you the whole package: skill plus humanity. He is warm, compassionate, and patient. His staff are also friendly, helpful and respectful.
Having cancer is frightening. Treatment decisions, especially with regard to prostate cancer, are often anything but clear-cut. My wife, Karen, and I greatly appreciated Dr. Golden’s willingness to answer all of our many questions. Dr. Golden worked with us in a collaborative relationship. Especially at this time in medicine, I think that sort of alliance is a gift.
